Often the 19th Century meals were served in historical dramas and cooked at historic sites represent the foods served for special events or holidays.  Daily meals were comprised of much simpler dishes requiring less time for a housewife or cook to prepare and often using leftover ingredients from previous meals.  In this workshop participants will work togeter in Landmark Inn's  open-hearth kitchen to cook three simple seasonal dishes from Mrs. Beacon's Book of Household Management, 1861, meant for wholesome family meals.
